IT IS SAID that the excision of a young girl is the equivalent of the circumcision of a boy...
IN REALITY: on an anatomical level these two are not at all comparable; excision would be the same as cutting off the penis in a boy's case

IT IS SAID that the purity and virginity of a girl must be ensured, as well as the fidelity of a wife...
IN REALITY: the behaviour of a human being depends on their qualities of spirit and heart, and not on an injury

|
IT IS SAID that female sexual mutilation makes women more fertile...
IN REALITY: female sexual mutilation does not increase fertility. On the contrary, it can lead to genital infections which can in turn cause sterility. Childbirth can be much more difficult which may cause distress to the fœtus.
