“Collectif Together For Theresa”
The Collective in figures:

- two letters to Theresa.

A member of the Collective wished to propose to Theresa to go to some cultural events, to go out and have some fun and, when it would be possible, to host her at her house during week-ends.
Theresa visited us and it was the occasion for her to realise what Collective means. She found out how many gifts she had received but they were too many: on that day she could bring only some along, she planned to come back at the end of that month to get the rest.
She looked happy and relaxed, she received a good news on that day: Fédasil got her a place in a Centre. She would get the security of a roof on her head, a bed and some food. On the top of it, the Centre of St Trond is both nearby where her friend lives for the time being, and where she gets medical help and follows her Dutch courses. She knew already that Center, being the first proposed to her upon her arrival. She didn’t need to get used to a new environment and start everything from scratch..
On the same day, a member of the Collective brought a donation of clothes and shoes. She proposed to Theresa to host her during week-ends in order to get some fun and spend some time outside the Centre while meeting new people.
Theresa asked to meet the Collective’s members.
« Tell her that she is not alone and that we think a lot about her. At the end of the tunnel, there is always some light ». Sophie and her husband from Brussels.
Less than one months after its creation, the « Collective Together For Theresa » comprises 40 members !
More clothes and some body products are donated.

Some mail has been sent to Theresa together with a letter from the Collective and one from each GAMS member.
Creation and launch of the « Collective Together For Theresa »
Phone call to Theresa at GAMS to talk with her about the Collective. She was very happy about this initiative. She was very keen on continuing following her Dutch courses. She was living in the Limburg area and if she could get some financial support she could buy the necessary books and pay for the photocopies.
The CPAS responsible for her before her entering the 127 bis Closed Centre was refusing, for the time being, to pay for her medical expenses. Her lawyer sent a mail to Fédasil. For now, she could not get specific drugs (e.g. against migraines, insomnia, etc.).
We promised Theresa that we would send her a copy of the Collective letter.
